KobuNeka Software (or Neka) builds software and hosts online services
It is named as such because it is the 3rd rewrite of NekaBASIC, after the first was lost due to code corruption and second was abandoned. It is designed to be similar to Commodore BASIC. It's purpose is to be a much simpler way of using KNOS. Major differences are how variables are assigned using $ prefixed to the variable name, "system variables" are environment variables, there are no variable suffixes ($X=2 and $X="test" are both valid),
The purpose of Venus is to make compiling for KNOS easier, as it currently requires changing several settings and is not well documented. Venus is meant to support being compiled from languages such as Lua and BASIC, as well as COMPLEX which is the assembly langauge of Venus (Which ironically, much less keywords).
KNOS is a hybrid operating system inspired by DOS, specifically using the PE format and Windows conventions. Runs on IA32e (NOT AMD64) with planned support for IA32, AArch32, and AArch64. The kernel is written in a microkernel style, with operations such as networking and filesystem access provided by other programs. The WiKe kernel's jobs are: memory management, process management, and facilitating IPC. GrAWiG is the system library, it provides frameworks for communicating with the kernal and other programs. Programs are NT PE excecutables, linked with GrAWiG.dll. Despite the intential similarities, no API compatibilty is planned.
